The true first state binding with the publisher's golden gun embossed on the front panel - rare.

The scarcest recognised discreet state of any James Bond book, this copy has the gilt-stamped gun on the front board, produced for less than 1000 copies before the publisher abandoned it due to the prohibitive cost of using gold foil. Bibliographer Jon Gilbert calls it "effectively the publisher's trial binding, rejected in favour of a cheaper alternative" that has since become exceptionally rare and desirable for the collector.

First edition, first impression, first state binding. Original publishers boards in VG+ condition with the Golden Gun embossed to the front board. Origianl dust-jacket in near-fine condition. A cracking example of a rare Fleming title.
