A classic and much loved book in the Moomin series, here not only inscribed by Tove Jansson (rare in itself) but also featuring a one of a kind original drawing of the character Sniff under the inscription. A truly remarkable example.

First Swedish edition (published in the same year in Swedish by Gebers in Stockholm and Schildts in Helsinki). Octavo. Original cream cloth-backed pictorial boards, lettered blue to spine; with a total of 93 delightful line drawings, including many full-page, depicting Moomins in their world. Inscribed by the author alongside a one of a kind drawing depicting the character of Sniff. A remarkably fine example, both externally and internally, with none of the usual discolouration to the spine. The only defect to mention is one small blemish to the front board.
