David Bowie at EMI: The Carol Baxter Collection

This collection of David Bowie Memorabilia comes directly from the personal collection of Carol Baxter (1959-2017), ex-VP of International Marketing for EMI International. At EMI International it was Carols responsibility to ensure that EMI's overseas offices released and promoted British signings. Carol worked closely with a number of EMI’s key acts in the late 80’s and 90’s, including prominent work with David Bowie, Queen, Iron Maiden, Radiohead, Supergrass, Coldplay and Robbie Williams and was held in enormously high esteem by all of these bands, often giving them the breaks they needed internationally, most notably Radiohead. Carol worked closely with her idol, David Bowie in the late 80’s and early 90’s, especially on the international release of Changesbowie in 1990. As part of this work with Bowie she was responsible for all marketing materials to support the projects she worked on, and this is where this collection came from. Most notably Carol managed to acquire the original transparency of the Changesbowie cover, a true one-off, as well as an exclusive set of photography, including some with original negatives. Some of these images have never been seen before, until now.
