The Mysterious Affair at Styles - Christie's first published novel!
A country house, poison and Poirot, it is of course Agatha Christie!
An extremely rare title, The Mysterious Affair at Styles is the first ever published novel by the Queen of Crime. An essential book - This is the book that launched it all and also introduced the world not only to Christie's writing but also Poirot, he of 'the little grey cells'.
Originally written as the result of a bet in that Christie, who had previously never written a book, could not compose a detective novel in which the reader would not be able to spot the murderer.
First edition, first impression. A near-fine example with the covers, which are notoriously prone to fading, still showing bright. A strong investment piece.
Published by John Lane The Bodley Head, UK, 1921.
