'I've done my damndest to rip a reader's nerves to rags, I don't want him satisfied.'

An excellent first edition of John Steinbeck's landmark novel, The Grapes of Wrath, winner of the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize. Rare to find with an unrestored dust jacket.

The Grapes of Wrath is a ground-breaking novel that greatly impacted the literary landscape of the 20th century. At times shocking and controversial, it tells the epic tale of the Joad family as they journey west from Dust Bowl-era Oklahoma to California in pursuit of a better life. This story is a poignant depiction of false hopes and shattered dreams, with Steinbeck masterfully weaving a narrative that is both deeply human and grand in its scope.

Description and condition:

First edition, first impression, original cloth, dust-jacket, light creasing and a few nicks to extremities, two 1" closed tears to spine head (not affecting text) and front flap (slightly affecting text), overall an excellent copy, preserved in custom-made drop-back box with stamped relief echoing dust-jacket design. An excellent example.
