£25,000.00 GBP

This highly sought-after Collector's Edition of Peter Beard's Taschen Sumo monograph showcases the artist's renowned work in the Kenyan landscape. The edition, limited to 125 examples, includes previously unreleased collage artworks, diary spreads, and ephemera, all bound in a luxurious leather volume, displayed on a custom wooden bookstand (see photos) and features the original plywood & pine crate with an Elephant motif as well as the original cardboard box with a similar embossed Elephant design.

Released in 2006, this limited edition also features the original 1978/2006 gelatin silver print, 965 Elephants, capturing a breathtaking aerial view of a wildlife-filled landscape. Signed and titled by Peter Beard himself, the print is framed to museum standard and includes the original folio. The set also comes with PB2, a second book providing detailed descriptions of each plate.

All items are housed in the original, oversized burgundy velvet-lined shipping crate, designed with separate compartments for each piece (see pictures). The crate and all parts comes in at a whopping 37kgs!

Sold out upon its release in 2006, no additional Collector's Editions have been produced, making this a truly rare and exceptional find for collectors. It is a stunning and truly monumental collection of items - a work of art in itself!
