Peter Beard’s Taschen Sumo Monograph: Collector's Edition

This highly sought-after Collector's Edition of Peter Beard's Taschen Sumo monograph showcases the artist's celebrated work within the Kenyan landscape. Limited to just 125 copies, this edition includes previously unreleased collage artworks, diary spreads, and ephemera, all elegantly bound in a luxurious leather volume. The set is presented on a custom wooden bookstand and comes with the original plywood and pine crate featuring an elephant motif, along with a cardboard box that showcases a similar embossed design.

Released in 2006, this limited edition also includes the original 1978/2006 gelatin silver print titled 965 Elephants, which captures a breathtaking aerial view of a wildlife-rich landscape. This print is signed and titled by Peter Beard and is framed to museum standards, accompanied by the original folio. Additionally, the set features PB2, a supplementary book that provides detailed descriptions of each plate.

All items are housed in the original, oversized burgundy velvet-lined shipping crate, specifically designed with separate compartments for each piece. The complete crate and its contents weigh an impressive 37 kg!

Sold out upon its release in 2006, no further Collector's Editions have been produced, making this an exceptionally rare find for collectors. This collection is not only stunning but is also a monumental work of art in its own right.
